You may have two accounts if:
- you paid or entered an access code, but XYZ Homework still shows a free-trial notice or asks you to activate;
- your class, work or scores are missing when you sign in;
- XYZ Homework says your access code has already been used.
What this means
XYZ Homework keeps your work, scores, payment and access code on the account where they happened. With two accounts, each one has only part of it.
This can happen in either of these ways:
- You already had an account, and chose Create Account on the one-time connect page in your LMS.
- You signed up again at xyzhomework.com with a different email, for example a personal email instead of your school email.
XYZ Homework won’t let you sign up with an email that is already another account’s username. Check other email addresses you may have used, and tell support if your LMS created an account automatically.
Try this now
-
Write down every email address you might have used: your school email, your personal email, and any older address.
-
Sign in at www.xyzhomework.com/login with each one. For an account you created, your username is the email address. If you don’t know the password, reset it.
-
For each account, note what it has: your class, your work, any free-trial or activation notice, and any active-access date shown. Keep your receipt or activation confirmation so support can check which account received it. Choose Logout before you try the next email. If an account opens on the Activate Your Account page, you may not see Logout there. Use Log out of XYZ Homework instead, then sign in with the next email.
-
Don’t pay again, don’t enter your code again, and don’t create another account.
From your LMS
Your LMS keeps opening the account you connected the first time, on the one-time connect page, or an account created automatically for your LMS. You can’t change which account that is yourself. If your payment or access code is on a different account from the one your LMS opens, contact XYZ Homework support. Say which LMS and course you use, and list the emails you found.
Keep opening your assignments from your LMS.
At xyzhomework.com
Use the account that has your class and your work. If your payment or access code is on the other account, contact XYZ Homework support. Write from the email address of the account you paid on, and list both emails.
Never send your password
Don’t send your password to anyone, including XYZ Homework support. Send the email addresses only.
Who can fix it
- You: find out which email has what, and stop making new accounts.
- XYZ Homework support: can connect your payment to the right account. Email from the address of the account you paid on.
- Your instructor: decides what happens to scores for work you did on the other account. Work you did on one account may stay on that account.
XYZ Homework opens with someone else’s name or work? Don’t do any work in it. Contact support, and tell your instructor.
Copy this to your instructor
Use this only if some of your work is on the other account:
I found out I have two XYZ Homework accounts. Some of my work for (assignment names) was done on my other account, (other email). My main account is (main email). Could you tell me how you’d like to handle the scores for that work?
