What this means
For an account you created, your XYZ Homework username is the email address you used when you created it. That is true whether you signed up at xyzhomework.com or chose Create Account on the connect page in your LMS. If you forgot your password, you reset it with that email.
If your LMS created your account automatically, keep opening assignments from your LMS. Your account may use a different username or have no password you chose. If you need help identifying it, contact support rather than making another account.

At xyzhomework.com

Go to www.xyzhomework.com/login.

In Username, type the email address you signed up with. Don’t type your student ID or your name.

Type your password in Password and choose Login.

If that doesn’t work, choose Forgot Password. Forgot Username opens the same Reset Password page.
After a failed login, you see a page that says “The username or password you entered is incorrect.” Its Forgot Username link only shows a note that your username is the email address you signed up with. Choose Forgot Password instead.

On the Reset Password page, type your email in User Name/Phone and choose Submit.
If you gave a phone number when you signed up, you can type that number instead, as 10 digits with no spaces or dashes. Check By clicking, you will receive an OTP and choose Submit. XYZ Homework texts you a code. Type it in Enter OTP, type a new password in Enter new password and again in Verify new password, and choose Submit. Use the code soon, because it only works for a limited time. Then skip to the last step.

The page says a reset email has been sent and shows the address it went to. Open that email and click the link in it soon, because the link only works for a limited time. If it isn’t there after a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. If the address shown is old or wrong, contact support.
If the link opens a page that says “Reset link has expired”, go back to www.xyzhomework.com/login, choose Forgot Password again, and use the link in the newest email.

Type a new password in Enter new password and again in Verify new password, then choose Submit. If a message appears under a box, change what you typed to fit it and choose Submit again.

Go back to www.xyzhomework.com/login and log in with your email and the new password.
From your LMS
You normally don’t need an XYZ Homework password to open homework from Canvas, D2L Brightspace, Blackboard or Moodle. Open the assignment from your LMS.
You need your password only on the one-time connect page, when you sign in with an account you already have. See XYZ Homework asks me to Sign In or Create Account.

If you don’t remember that password, don’t choose Create Account.

Reset your password at xyzhomework.com. Use the steps under At xyzhomework.com, above.

Go back to your LMS and open the assignment again.

On the connect page, fill in only the top part with your email and new password, and choose Sign In.
If XYZ Homework was set up for you automatically through your LMS, and you never chose a password, your account may not have one. Keep opening your assignments from your LMS.
Don't make a new account
A new account doesn’t have your work, payment or access code. Reset your password instead. If you already made a second account, see I think I have two XYZ Homework accounts.
Messages you might see

Who can fix it
- You: reset your password with the email on your account, as above.
- Your instructor: can set a temporary password for you and tell you what it is. Log in at www.xyzhomework.com/login with your email and that temporary password. XYZ Homework then shows Change Your Password. Type the temporary password in Enter old password, type a new password in Enter new password and again in Verify new password, and choose Submit. (The page you see after you choose Submit on the Reset Password page also says your instructor can reset your password.)
- XYZ Homework support: if the reset email never arrives, or the email on your account is wrong or no longer works.
